Existing customers can still use AddressPal
AddressPal gives customers virtual addresses in the UK and US. Deliveries sent to those addresses are forwarded to their home addresses in Ireland.
If you already have an account, you can continue using those addresses for purchases from retailers that do not deliver here. Shoppers without an account will no longer be able to register from 16 October.
Update your account before the website closes
An Post asks customers who want to continue using AddressPal to note their AddressPal number and update their details before 16 October. Complete any changes to your payment card information while online access remains available.
After closure, you cannot access your account online, update account details online or change payment card information.
Forwarding costs and customs
UK AddressPal deliveries cost €10 for items up to 20 kilos. US deliveries start at €20 and increase with weight, with customs and VAT added where they apply, according to Goosed.ie.
Since 1 July 2026, a €3 customs duty applies to every distinct item in a parcel worth €150 or less from outside the EU. Goods from Great Britain and the US fall within that rule.
Count the distinct items in your basket when working out the duty. For example, 3 distinct items in a qualifying UK parcel attract €9 in duty. Add the €10 AddressPal charge for a parcel within the weight limit and the forwarding charge plus duty comes to €19 before any applicable VAT or the cost of the goods.
Why An Post is changing AddressPal
AddressPal launched in 2016. An Post says more retailers now offer direct delivery and customs changes have made cross-border shipping more complex since the service began.
For a new purchase, check whether the retailer delivers directly to your Irish address before arranging forwarding through an existing AddressPal account.
