Shopify shipping apps Ireland: carrier connections and account limits

Write down the full carrier names on your accounts before choosing shipping software. Include the country in names such as DPD Ireland and GLS Ireland. Then record where your parcels start and the destinations you need the app to handle.

• List the carrier accounts you want to connect and any API credentials you already have.
• List the shipping origins and destinations your store uses.
• List the functions you need, such as bulk labels, service routing and tracking returned to Shopify.

For an Irish seller, these account and origin limits determine which documented connections cover parcels sent from Ireland. For an account-based connection, ask about the terms for your Irish carrier account before paying for the software.

Shipmate publishes a Shopify integration page for each of An Post, DPD Ireland and GLS Ireland. Its documentation gives you a named connection to check against each carrier account on your list.

EirLink describes shipping automation for Irish e-commerce and lists An Post, DPD, GLS, UPS and DHL Express as live carriers. It says its free account includes unlimited orders and labels, with postage billed to your own connected carrier account or prepaid through EirPost if you have no carrier account. It also says new unfulfilled Shopify orders import within seconds, and creating a label returns tracking to Shopify, marks the order fulfilled and notifies the customer.

Boostmyshop says its An Post integration requires an eCommerce Hub account and API token. Have both available before setting up that connection.

ShipStation describes Irish domestic shipping through a UK ShipStation account. Its An Post integration prints labels for parcels starting and ending in the Republic of Ireland. If your order list includes overseas destinations, assign those orders to a connection documented for the route you need.

Shippo’s Professional plan lists connecting your own carrier accounts as a feature, according to its Shopify App Store listing. Include that plan feature when assessing an existing carrier account connection.

Sendcloud lists 8 fully supported European shipping origins, without Ireland. It also lists conditional additional origins for merchants with an eligible invoice address and carrier contract.

For a proposed Sendcloud setup, check your invoice address and carrier contract against those additional-origin conditions before buying a plan. Record Ireland as the shipping origin when discussing eligibility.

Starshipit names DPD UK and DPD Local on its DPD page. Match the named regional carrier to the account you intend to connect.

Shippo’s Shopify listing names DHL Express, FedEx and UPS as supported connections. ShipStation’s listing names Australia Post, Avalara, FedEx, NetSuite, Royal Mail and UPS under works with. Use the provider’s account and origin documentation to establish whether the proposed connection covers parcels leaving Ireland.

Shipmate says its GLS Ireland connection bulk prints labels and can choose the service using routing rules. Write down the service choices you want those rules to make before configuring your workflow.

Boostmyshop says its Shopify integration returns inventory and tracking to Shopify, according to Boostmyshop. Include both outputs in your setup requirements if your store needs shipping activity reflected in Shopify.

For domestic An Post orders through ShipStation, its documented output is a label for a parcel starting and ending in the Republic of Ireland. Match that coverage to your domestic order queue.

Compare each plan with your monthly shipment volume, number of carriers and sales channels.
