DPD announces a temporary suspension
If you are waiting for a DPD parcel, allow for possible disruption.
Fuel blockades caused road closures around Dublin and in Cork and Limerick.
An Post says its fleet partly offsets the problems
An Post pointed to significant delays on parts of the road network. It said some disruption to services was possible in affected areas (The Journal).
The company said its problems were partly offset because more than 50% of its mail delivery fleet are electric vehicles. It also said some 96% of its truck fleet runs on hydrotreated vegetable oil and that it holds stocks at five operational sites.
UPS reports delays in some areas
UPS said it was experiencing limited disruption and delivery delays in some areas. If your parcel is travelling with UPS, allow for possible delays when organising anything that depends on receiving it.
